Should I write if I'm tired and don't feel motivated to do it? I'm 15 years old and I've been writing my first novel for two months now which I'm half way through completing. I seem to be only able to write on weekends because I'm tired when I come home from school. I don't want to write if I don't feel up to it because then that chapter won't be the best it is most capable of.
Do you have any advice, or advice on writing a novel in general?
Thanks for your answers! Can anyone give me some advice on what to do when lacking inspiration?
Writing is a craft. to be a good writer you need to write. Try and get into a routine of writing at a set time or day, and set yourself a target of so many words.
Many writers start by revising their previous day's work.
It is not necessary to write every day, many best-selling writers are weekend writers.
Writing is 90% persistence and 10% inspiration. A writer writes.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how the words mounts up if your adopt a routine.
Good luck. and enjoy your writing. Can anyone give me some advice on what to do when lacking inspiration?
When i need motivated, i listen to music. Some day's i'll be listening to music and get a lot of great ideas for drawings. Don't force yourself to do it though, wait until your in the mood.
If I get stuck sometimes and I know where I want the story to go I write a otline of the story then as I'm going over the outline it inspires me on what to write
If you aren't into it, don't write. It is okay to take time on novels. I have been writing one for a while now, and it is coming along wonderfully because I don't write when I am unmotivated. The only advice I have is to stick with it.
