Any advice for someone moving from New York city to LA?

I am planning on moving from NYC to LA. Has anyone ever made this move before? I plan on going out there with only my clothes and starting over with everything else. How much will this cost? Any advice?Any advice for someone moving from New York city to LA?

you need a car... a 1 bed apartment is anywhere from $800 to like $2000. all depending in the city. the closest you are to downtown LA, the more $$$$
If you're moving from NYC to LA, you won't have the ';sticker shock'; that most people have when they try to find housing in LA ... but, you should still have job prospects lined up ... and have enough money saved to cover a couple of months expenses until you get settled. Your expenses will probably be about what they were in NYC, except that you MUST have a car in LA....
