The watermelon should be off in an area of it's own since it is a vine and will spread out. The rest of your garden should go in order by heigth. First plant your lettuce, next green beans, then peppers and lastly your tomatoes. Keep a walking path between your rows.Any advice on how to plant a garden?
plow up some soil and put some seeds in the dirt.
First choose what plants you desire to grow. certain plants grow in certain conditions, so try to choose plants that grow in a wide range of condition, and is easy to grow, like herbs. May i recommend: Mints, oregano, sage, chives, garlic, catnip, thyme, and rosemary? These are all plants that are easy to obtain from nurseries, and garden shops, they can tolerate sweltering heat, or bitter cold and require little attention. They are edible, and smell very nice. Then invest. buy good materials that will last a few years. the plants i listed come back every year. plan what your garden will look like, and its size. you dont want to have a one inch by one inch garden in a big backyard, and you dont want a huge garden behind an apartment. plan wisely. arrange your plants the way you want them to look, and plant them. get a book on gardening to assist you. After that, water your plants every day, dont flood them though. in a few months your garden will be bountiful.if you need more help, feel free to email me.
