While driving well behind a cement truck, it released about 50 or so golf ball sized pieces of rock, some of which I couldn't avoid hitting. There are no dent, but the car is new and has an array of dot sized chips out of the front and side. I have the license plate and truck number. What would be a reasonable course of action? Can I, and more importantly, should I (to hit them for their negligence), pursue any course of action? I understand the body work for a handful of chips may not break the bank, so is it the right or mature thing to do to make them take responsibility?Advice for handling minor damage from rocks from a cement truck hitting my car?
Commercial construction equipment carry s a no ask policy of 1 million dollars,

Look- im not gonna sugarcoat your answer here even though i know its not what you want to hear.
The problem is anyone could call their company and say rocks hit their car. So unless you have a police report, a witness, or the driver admits that his rocks fell.. your going to be out of luck.
You can try to contact them (or have your insurance take care of the damages then go after them for your deductible) but honestly it rarely works out. Insurance liability is based on PROOF. and it appears you may not have any. good luck!
I must ask what State you are in, Country? inorder to answer the question properly, all of the answers that you received are mostly correct, although it depends on how your policy is written. The best answer that I could give you is review your / policy coverages, make sure that you understand them and file a claim with your carrier. You can get more state and coverage spacific answers from the claim adjuster with your auto insurance.
This is what full coverage insurance is for, call your agent, give them the info and the license/truck number and they will handle it, your insurance will NOT go up since it is not your fault.
You're asking if you should hold them responsible? How can anyone but you answer that question?
