Any advice on throwing a shot or discus?

I need suggestion on how to be a better thrower. If I don't mark high enough I'll get knocked off the team. I know the basics of each. But I want to know how to get more momentum, espescially for the shot put. If you have any tips on techniques, I'd really appreciate it!Any advice on throwing a shot or discus?
How far do you throw either now?

Ensure that your legs are moving faster than your upper body. The implement should remain withdrawn and relaxed in power position, thus allowing you to transfer the momentum from your leg movement into delivering the shot / discus.

Legs are crucial for throwers. Check that you have good footspeed and good foot placement. Do skipping and separation exercises, cariocas, crossovers and such, to train your adductor muscles.
