Need advice about moving out on my own?

I'm a college kid, and things at home really are not going well, so I'm considering moving out at some point in the not-to-distant future. What should I know? Also, anyone have any advice on where a person can live on a very low income? I'm fine during the school year, since I've got housing, and I've got a reccuring 1 month live in job during the summers, but beyond that, I'm not sure where I might be able to go. Any advice or pointers about this or anything related would be appreciated.Need advice about moving out on my own?
You should start saving money right now. First months rent + Last months rent + Security Deposit (usually a months rent) will be a big wad o' cash to lay down, especially if your not prepared for it.

As far as getting a place for the summers and winter breaks at school your best bet is to find someone in the area of your work who is looking for a roomate. That way you will not have to worry so much about the expense.Need advice about moving out on my own?
Whatever you do, don't get desperate for a roommate to help pay bills that you move in with someone you don't really know. Also, don't try to get cable, internet, or other extras that will put you in a bind.
Uhmmm--get a job. If you are old enough to be in college I think you should be out on your own. You may be able to live cheaply in a YMCA. You could join the military. Perhaps you can be an aide for some class that you are interested in. Maybe you could work for a few years and then go back to college.
